A chronically broke student, sixty cents for a coke and a 25 cent tip lasted the evening. Saw so many great musicians. Fun to watch Shelly Manne who did his amazing percussion work without apparent effort. That is unless he noticed someone watching him and then you couldn't believe how difficult it was to do what he was doing. In the dozens of visits and over the years I only say Howard Ramsey do one solo. Night after night he was a solid bassist in an excellent rhythm section.
